Native Title: 曇天に笑う
Also Known As: Donten ni Warau
Sidenote: I’ve never seen the anime or manga (if there’s any).
This seems to be an Ikemen Paradise of a movie. All the actors were good. I recognized some of them (I guess I should focus more in knowing who the casts of the shows are) and they are good.
There are parts that the pacing felt too slow. A scene that can last for just a few minutes they sometimes drag longer. This doesn’t ruin the whole movie though, thank goodness.
The fighting scenes were fluid and nice. I cannot deny that Sota is good with fight scenes as he has shown in Blade of the Immortal. This time instead of a weird shaped weapon or a katana, he wields a fan. Until now I’m still questioning his choice of weaponry but I guess he just doesn’t want anybody hurt?
I also loved the background music they used during the fight scenes, especially while inside the prison.
Before I started watching this movie like some, if not most, who watch any film or shows with Sota, I hoped that his acting here is at par with his Bleach stint where he undoubtedly did good. He did OK in this film, not bad. Till now, I really think there’s something wrong with his face as to why it doesn’t seem to change expressions.
I do recommend watching this movie as it was a fun watch. A mixture of fantasy and action is always a good watch. 🙂
Here’s a few screenies from the film.
